Hot Tent Winter Camping and Ice Fishing on a Mountain Lake in DEEP SNOW!
Переглядів 7 тис.3 місяці тому
I was driving around in the mountainous areas outside of the capital here in Norway and found a beautiful spot on a remote mountain lake to set up my inflatable hot tent. It was the first time I used the inflatable hot tent and it was one of my most comfortable winter camping trips ever. I brought my ice fishing gear, and my homemade automatic fisherman/fish trap and caught a trout, but let it ...
Building an Ice Igloo in -30° - AMBUSHED BY WOLVES in The Middle of The Frozen Lake
Переглядів 412 тис.3 місяці тому
In this adventure I am building my definitely most difficult shelter ever. It took me way more time to cut the ice blocks with only hand tools than expected and consumed most of my energy. I also had a wolf pack encounter the first day which is very rare here in Norway. I didn't bring along any firewood to make a campfire to scare the wolves off, and decided to pack my stuff slowly and get away...
Preparing the Treehouse For the Winter - Adding Moss Roof, Insulation, Floor, Shelf & Making Rotator
Переглядів 152 тис.6 місяців тому
I finally went back to the treehouse to make it more winterproof compared to last winter. I added moss to the roof to keep the heat, removed the dried moss and insulated the walls with lin fiber, made a skewer rotator, wooden floor, a shelf and new piping system for the wood stove to avoid leakage from the roof. This journey started in October and lasted until the full winter arrived in Decembe...

    For a survival guy youd think he would know not to build a fire up against a rock that can heat up expand and shatter

    ❤ Lovely spot. Just who dug out the shelter under the rock, how big is the rock, actually, what is holding it up and how's the drainage on a heavy rain?

    Firing at a large rock like that is dangerous to life if you are then going to sleep under it. This is not something you should do regardless of the situation

  • @soulcandy6320
    @soulcandy6320 5 днів тому

    My first instinctual thought, as well. Fire or not (but especially with a fire changing the structure)--do not sleep underneath! I thought it would be for sleeping above the heated rock.
